WAToday will reinvigorate its approach to covering Western Australia’s thriving culinary scene, with the re-introduction of the prestigious Hats scoring system and the appointment of highly-regarded food writer, Max Veenhuyzen.
With Veenhuyzen’s reputation as an experienced restaurant critic, Perth’s dining scene will feature prominently on the Good Food site on WAToday along with news stories nationally through the Nine papers.
Although the Good Food Guide won’t be coming back west this year, Veenhuyzen will be awarding Hats to deserving restaurants in his weekly reviews, which will help benchmark dining experiences nationally.
“Being asked to join the Good Food and WAToday teams as restaurant critic and food writer is a huge privilege, just as it has been being able to write about food and drink in WA for the past 20 years,” said Veenhuyzen.
