Joyce Randolph, the star of the 1955 sitcom The Honeymooners, died quietly in her sleep on Saturday in New York City.

Randolph Richard Charles, the 99-year-old actress’ son, told TMZ that his mother was in hospice care at the time of her death and was unable to walk. He explained that she died as a result of old age.

Randolph was the final surviving cast member of the acclaimed sitcom, which ran for 39 episodes and remained popular for years.

She played Trixie Norton in the show, which also starred Jackie Gleason, Audrey Meadows, and Art Carney.

Gleason died in 1987, while Meadows died over a decade later in 1996. Carney died in 2003.

“We just played ourselves,” Randolph told The New York Times of the concert in 2012. “Nobody told us to characterise in any way. It was, learn those lines and go on.”

The actress is survived by her only son, Randy, who disclosed that his mother will be cremated and asked that payments be given to the Entertainment Community Fund in lieu of flowers.
