Somewhat remarkable news that WWE was still considering Warner Brothers as a possible suitor for its future television rights to Raw broke this past week after reports indicated Nick Khan and Paul Levesque had met recently with Warner Brothers Discovery representatives. Such a move would likely impact negotiations AEW needs to be having with Warner Brothers for its future television rights and appears to be another shot fired in the continuing pro wrestling wars.
After a whirlwind tour of each of WWE’s brands, CM Punk has landed on Raw. He signed a contract for Adam Pearce this past Monday and subsequently declared his intention to enter the Royal Rumble as he stared defiantly into the eyes of world champion Seth Rollins. Punk had visited Smackdown last Friday to consider signing for Nick Aldis, but did not, despite stirring the pot a bit with references to Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. Punk also showed up at NXT’s Deadline event on Saturday and displayed interest in Shawn Michael’s crew. Punk has basically been all over WWE programming and was announced for upcoming house shows on the holiday tour in New York and Los Angeles.
