The Last Airbender Has Been Renewed by Netflix Despite Mixed Reviews

Even though the show has received a variety of reactions from viewers, Avatar: The Last Airbender will be returning to Netflix for a total of two seasons.

According to a story that was published by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, the streaming platform has decided to continue producing the live-action adaptation of the immensely popular Nickelodeon cartoon.

The first season of the show consists of eight episodes, but there has been no information disclosed regarding the number of episodes that will be included in the subsequent two seasons.

There have been both favourable and bad comments made about the show that follows the story of Aang, but according to Netflix, it has been the most popular English show on the streaming service with 41.1 million views since it was first released on February 22.

Additionally, the publication highlights the fact that although Netflix has previously renewed two seasons of a show at the same time for shows such as Emily in Paris and Stranger Things, this may be the first time that a double renewal has been used to end a show. This is because the streaming service has indicated that the upcoming two seasons will be the final ones.

Fans are stunned by the news, which has received a variety of reactions.

The show swiftly slid into the ‘rotten’ category on Rotten Tomatoes, getting a score of 59% with 46 reviews, despite the fact that early critic reactions from a pre-release press screening were good.

The audience reception is generally positive, with a 75% approval rating from over 2,500 ratings, despite the fact that it continues to maintain the same review score with regard to the 71 reviews that are now available.
