The Laugh Lounge, a great time full of laughs appropriate for everyone, is set to take place Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester. This event is a side-splitting evening of top-notch stand-up that is perfect for those who want a night of celebration without the late-night hassle.
The headliner of the event is The Legendary Wid, one of the funniest people to ever come from New Jersey. Since his humble beginnings in Cranford, N.J., The Legendary Wid has become the undisputed Prince of Props and Puns.
From his sold-out shows at New York’s The Bottom Line and Rascals in New Jersey to his frequent TV appearances, The Legendary Wid has always been an audience favorite, using props and puns to hilarious effect. No two shows are ever the same.
He has hosted TV shows such as VH-1’s “Top 20 Countdown” and appeared on “Stand-Up Spotlight.” He has appeared on “Make Me Laugh” on Comedy Central and “Comedy On The Road” and “Caroline’s Comedy Hour” on A&E, “The ABC Comedy Club Special” and “30 Seconds To Fame” on FOX.
He is also the subject of an award-winning documentary film titled “WID” by Jason Ferraro and Brian Galla. Thd show promises to be an unforgettable night of old-fashioned fun, so don’t miss out.
The host for the night of fun is Chris Coccia, whose comedy is a perfect mix of hilarious material and in-the-moment engagement. He flows seamlessly between his act and improvised interaction with the crowd.
Over 25 years performing full time as a stand-up comic, Chris has honed his ability to engage with a crowd and entertain a variety of audiences. From late-night shows in Las Vegas to early-morning team-building breakfasts, Chris always leaves them laughing.
Another comedian for the night is John Kensil. He began his comedy career as a joke writer for radio personalities, then wrote for Jay Leno and Joan Rivers.
John had been entertaining audiences with his aptly titled “John Kensil Show,” a sarcastic takeoff on the old Dean Martin show, with John as host and a cast of offbeat character comedians dropping in. Everything John talks about in his act is based in reality. From his girlfriend running off to become a professional Stevie Nicks impersonator in a Fleetwood Mac cover band, and leaving her kids and moms ashes with him, to growing up as one of seven Irish kids in a working class Philadelphia neighborhood.
Another comedian taking the stage Kirsten Michelle Cills. She is a Philadelphia-born, terminally ill comic known for her bold, dry demeanor and the oxygen tank that often accompanies her. Kirsten has opened for national headliners such as Tim Meadows, Judy Gold, Kim Congdon, Andrew Collin and Katherine Blanford.
Kirsten has headlined across the tri-state area, as well as headlining Laugh Boston earlier this year. When not correcting people’s pronunciation of her name or talking about the Eagles’ 2018 Super Bowl win, Kirsten is committed to her passion of joking about topics that we aren’t supposed to discuss at the dinner table.
Tickets start at $25. For more information, go to uptownwestchester.org/.
