BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – A popular Bryan market starts a new season Tuesday. The Local at Lake Walk is an outdoor market that features creators, producers and entrepreneurs from the Brazos Valley and beyond.
This season’s market will be every third Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Each will have over 20 vendors with handmade items like jewelry and body care along with fun treats like pickle-flavored cotton candy.
Vendors will rotate throughout the season, so visitors can always expect something fresh, according to market manager Tristan Estrada.
There will also be a variety of food trucks to enjoy throughout the season. Taco Boss and Smokin’ Sims 45 will be at Tuesday’s market.
A new addition to the season, live music. Local Americana duo Cliff + Caves will kick off the season.
“We’re expanding the scope of the local to include live music to really be a platform for arts and culture in the community,” Estrada said.
The market manager said The Local continues to grow and serve as a launching pad for several artists and makers.
Faith Paull is a new vendor and is the owner of FromFaith, a handcrafted jewelry line that uses flowers and weeds from College Station.
Returning vendor Darren Cadiz is an example of that. He’s the owner of Castile Confections, a body care line with a dessert twist.
“Everyone starts somewhere,” Cadiz said. “The Local is a good place that I like to think that I started because I got to meet people. I got people to see my product, and people could know, hey, I could always go to The Local and you could always get this stuff and now it’s allowed me to branch out and grow into a whole business.”
The Local will run until November 19.
You can keep up with the market on its website, Facebook and Instagram.
