The magic of Christmas comes to life at Biltmore


George Vanderbilt’s Biltmore is the definition of a hallmark — genuine, authentic and a shining beacon of the Gilded Age.

Vanderbilt and his wife, Edith, loved Christmas. They first opened the 250-room home to friends and family on Christmas Eve 1895. The centerpiece was a fresh Christmas tree in the Banquet Hall, tall enough to reach the organ loft.
