Dancers of the cast of the Ventura County Ballet’s 2024 production of “The Nutcracker” performed excerpts from the iconic Christmas ballet for a crowd of Will Rogers School students in Ventura on Tuesday afternoon.

The preview performance came as the company prepares for its annual production of the Tchaikovsky classic.

More than 100 performers will join for this year’s shows, which includes accompaniment from the Opera San Luis Obispo Grand Orchestra and the Ventura Unified School District Choir. The cast of dancers will be led by Mushegh Avetisyan and Elizaveta Domracheva.

The full performance will be on display at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center during weekend performances on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets and information are available at venturacountyballet.com.
