The Office’s Rainn Wilson Discusses Spirituality and Comedy

Rainn Wilson, who is known for playing Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” has started a spiritual journey for himself.

During a panel at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado, he talked with Jenna Bush Hager from TODAY about his book “Soul Boom: Why We Need a Spiritual Revolution.” The book is about how spirituality can help us deal with problems like racism, sexism, materialism, and climate change.

Wilson has been on a deep spiritual journey to find true happiness while working on “The Office” and making projects for his company SoulPancake.

At first, he got into comedy and acting to make money, but as he talked to fans and heard how the show had changed their lives, he changed his mind. Wilson realized how good it felt to make people laugh and feel good, which made him understand how important it was to act with grace and divine light.

“But it’s been really gratifying. And as I’ve moved along in my life and gained a little bit more wisdom, I realized that to act in grace and in divine light is something that we all do more of.”

Wilson had a life-changing experience while working on “The Office” and his company, SoulPancake. He realized how much comedy and positive interaction can change people’s lives. This made him act with grace and divine light, changing his focus from being useful to seeing the value in itself of making other people happy and giving them inspiration.
