The Salvation Army launches fashion sustainability podcast

Fashion sustainability podcastThe podcast is set to engage fashion industry leaders and influencers, delving into topics related to second-hand fashion and the reuse of textiles.

The podcast builds on SATCoL’s already existing efforts towards supporting the textiles and fashion industry in becoming more sustainable and achieving circularity; the organisation has already launched a Corporate Donations Scheme to help reduce fashion waste, created an automated sorting and pre-processing plant for textiles and opened its own commercial-scale polyester recycling facility.

Hosted by former Stylist editor Naomi May, the podcast aims to empower SATCoL to contribute to positive change in the fashion industry, addressing both social and environmental concerns.

The first episode features a conversation with Lucy Siegle, a UK-based journalist, broadcaster and environmental reporter known for her work on BBC1’s The One Show.

The six-part series also includes discussions with Ally Head, Health, Sustainability, and Relationships Editor at Marie Claire UK, George Barrett, Sustainability Manager at John Lewis Partnership, Bel Jacobs, Ex-Style Editor at The Metro, Jess Davies, Fashion Writer at Harpers Bazaar, and Majonne Frost, Head of Environment and Sustainability at SATCoL.

‘The Sustainable Conversation’ podcast is accessible on various platforms, including Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and SATCoL TV. For those interested in supporting or partnering with SATCoL, additional information can be found on their official website at www.satcol.org.
