The Voice Recap: Season 25 Opener Begins with Fascinating Auditions

The Voice Season 25 began with a whole new line-up of judges and new talent gracing the stage of the singing show with their vocal power.

Dan + Shay joined John Legend, Chance the Rapper, and Reba McEntire on the coaching panel. To address the complexity of retaining the tradition of four-chair spins, the duo’s seats were swiveled together.

The first round of blind auditions took performed, and each contestant impressed the judges with their determination to advance to the combat rounds.

Dani Stacy opened the tryouts with an acoustic performance of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive, winning a four-chair turn. Chance the Rapper snatched Dani following a close call between the rapper and Dan + Shay.

Dan and Shay were charmed by Justin and Jeremy Garcia’s performance of Story of My Life, and expressed optimism for at least one duet on their squad.

Tae Lewis demonstrated his country singing abilities by belting out a copy of Keith Urban’s Somebody Like You. Torn between John Legend and Reba McEntire, the Nashville native eventually caved to the latter’s offer of chicken tenders.

Ryan Argast astonished Dan + Shay by performing a rock & roll version of Speechless, compelling the duo to accept him to their squad.

Nadège chose Chance the Rapper after he allegedly outperformed John Legend in his live performance of Ordinary People.

After gaining turns from both the artist and Dan + Shay, John Sanders’ daughter threatened to chose Reba as his coach.

OK3 was the second group of the night to get a four-chair turn, with the judges vying to be picked by the trip following their flawless rendition of Meghan Trainor’s Made You Look. However, credits rolled in before they could make their selection, so fans will have to wait until tomorrow night to see the results.
