Two parades, two Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and four Nevada basketball games are on tap during a packed week in northwestern Nevada, along with Santa visits, a streamlined “Nutcracker” performance and a fireworks show. Bundle up and enjoy a chilly, festive week. Here are the highlights.
Northern Nevada weather, Nov. 27-Dec. 3
Monday: Sunny, with highs in the upper 30s to upper 40s. Mostly clear overnight, with lows near 20 in the valleys and down near 10 at upper elevations.
Tuesday-Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 40s in the valleys. Mostly cloudy overnight, with lows in the 20s in the valleys and into the mid-teens at upper elevations.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of precipitation, with highs in the mid-30s to mid-40s. Overnight lows in the 10s and 20s.
Saturday-Sunday: Partly sunny, with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s. A chance of snow at higher elevations. Partly cloudy overnight, with highs ranging from 30 down to the upper teens.
Northern Nevada roadwork, Nov. 27-Dec. 3
Oddie Boulevard: Access to Montello Street at Oddie Boulevard will continue to be closed through Wednesday, and lanes adjacent to the median on Oddie Boulevard will be closed between Silverada Boulevard and Sutro Street as part of the Oddie Wells Project.
U.S. 395 in Cold Springs: Traffic will be reduced to one lane from south of the Cold Springs interchange to the California state line from Monday through Friday for signage and lighting improvements. Speed limits will be reduced and intermittent, brief ramp closures will also take place.
I-80 exit 48, Fernley: Southbound US-95A underneath I-80 on the east end of Fernley will remain closed through the end of the year as NDOT continues a retrofit project on interstate bridges in the state.

The Struts, Dec. 1: The heavier side of British rock is represented by the Struts, who have a new album called “Pretty Vicious” out in November.
