The Wilson Center to host first ever student-inspired arts and music festival


WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) is working with CFCC’s Commercial, Fine, and Performing Arts department for the first ever HelloArts! Festival: Celebrating CFCC Arts & Music.

The two day festival begins at 6 p.m. on Nov. 18 with performances by CFCC’s Music and Theatre department members, including the chorus, Jazz Ensemble, and Beats Club.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Nov. 19, there will be solo performances by members of the music and theatre department, followed by student performances showcasing the orchestra, guitar ensembles, and the Beats Club.

In the Wilson Center‘s lobby on both days, there will be original artwork displayed from CFCC’s visual artists.

“This festival at the Wilson Center is a celebration of [students] dedication, creativity, and countless hours of hard work and practice,” said Philip Singleton, AFA Programs Director.

The two day festival is free and open to the public. All students in attendance will receive a free soft drink. Tickets are available for reservation here or by contacting the box office at (910) 362-7999 between 2 and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. In-person ticket sales are available at the box office during the same time.
