These 3 popular travel destinations will offer big discounts in 2024

Travel has become expensive recently. Some places are exceptions, however, and are actually getting cheaper to visit.

After consulting travel agencies and experts, Yahoo Finance compiled a list of the destinations that might see discounted prices next year.

Here are some of their picks:

1. London

England’s capital offers museums, restaurants, and sights galore, which explains why so many tourists want to visit. According to a pro travel agent and founder of Simple Travel Hacks, Jeff Henninger, London was a highly-coveted destination for many in 2022 and now in 2023, so such a high number of visitors may not be back next year.

“A ton of people went to London for the queen’s funeral and the king’s coronation,” Henninger said. “Most of those people won’t be looking to go back so soon. With less demand, the prices should be lower.”

2. Paris

Croissants, and marvelous sights are some of the many exciting attractions Paris offers to its visitors. But after the media heard of the bed bug invasion this year, many of Henninger’s clients have started cancelling their trips to the City of Love.

“This story is top of mind for many travelers, so we could see reduced bookings into at least the first half of 2024. This will bring down prices,” Henninger said.

3. Cape Town

Offering gorgeous natural life and relaxing wine tastings, Cape Town is a hub for tourists. Next year, according to Christian Miller from Discover Italy, competition may be lowering the cost to visit Cape Town.

“With increased competition among luxury hotels and resorts, prices are expected to decrease next year, making it an ideal time to plan your dream vacation to Cape Town,” Miller said.
