Light up your Friday at Lakeshore Balloon Glow

Lakeshore Balloon Glow features food, children’s activities and live entertainment.

One of the lakeshore’s largest annual events returns to downtown Manitowoc for an incredible night of entertainment, food and fun.

Aug. 16, the Lakeshore Balloon Glow event will start with the Webfooters Ski Show at 5 p.m., hot air balloons will inflate at dusk, and then fireworks will conclude the night at 8:30 p.m.

In between, there will be magic shows, aerial dance performances, food trucks, bounce houses and more.

Relax to the sounds of acoustic music at the 28th annual Acoustic Fest!

This free concert, composed of many accomplished and local musicians, will take over Washington Park, 1115 Washington St., in Manitowoc from noon to 9 p.m. Aug. 17.

Several food trucks and beverage tents will be on hand. All proceeds are given back to the community as scholarships and donations.

Take it easy on a shoreline cruise

Feel that wind in your hair during a shoreline cruise one last time this summer!

The S.S. Badger Lake Michigan Carferry hosts its final cruise from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 17.

Live entertainment will be provided by Bobby Gleason. The onboard museum, gift shop and arcade will be open. Refreshments will be available during the cruise.

Have a splash at the Family Pool Party

Cool off from the summer heat with a dip in the pool at Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center and Mini Golf during the Family Pool Party at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17.

The Bob & Scott Show will be spinning fun music, there will be pool toys, and plenty of popcorn, candy and beverages until 9 p.m.

See the Kids from Wisconsin

The state-renowned Kids From Wisconsin are back in Manitowoc for an exciting show of their versatile talents! Their music will fill the Capitol Civic Centre from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 15.

This highly-energized show is called “Larger than Life: The Great Entertainers” and features iconic music from historic bands and orchestras, all the way to music from modern rock and pop.
