World-renowned, horn-powered blues band Roomful of Blues will be performing at the Narrows Center for the Arts, 16 Anawan St., Fall River, on Friday, Nov. 29.

Their latest Alligator Records release is “In A Roomful Of Blues.”

The Rhode Island-based group has been delighting audiences for more than 50 years.

Showtime is at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $43 in advance, and $46 on the day of the show.

Fall River Scholarship Foundation’s Fall River calendar available now

The Fall River Scholarship Foundation’s 2025 Fall River calendar is now available to the public, featuring historic pictures of Fall River.

Featured on the cover is a 1976 aerial photo of Government Center.

Other photos in the 2025 calendar include the 1966 Easter Sunday walk across the Braga Bridge, pictures of shoppers on a snow-covered Main Street, the arrival of Big Mamie, the steamboat Commonwealth, a St. Patrick’s Day float, the Union Mills, and the busy holiday shopping season downtown.

James Rogers is the calendar’s editor, and this is the 46th year of its publication.

These pictures were loaned from the personal collections of several area collectors of Fall River memorabilia, including Christopher Donovan, Patrick Cookson, Colin Furze, The Herald News, and James Rogers.

All proceeds are used for scholarships.

Calendars are $5 each, and they are available at: K&G Crafts, 260 New Boston Rd.; New Boston Bakery, 279 New Boston Rd.; Standard Pharmacy at Health First, 387 Quarry St.; Christopher’s, 1816 S. Main St.; Viva Fall River, 38 Granite St.; Dunny’s BBQ, 11 N. Main St.; and Sheri’s Restaurant, 13 N. Main St.

The calendars will also be on sale at the annual Christmas Arts and Crafts fair at B.M.C. Durfee High School, 460 Elsbree St., Fall River, on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8.

The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum, 396 County St., New Bedford, will be hosting afternoon tea in the double parlors, which have been festively decorated for the holiday season.

The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum, 396 County St., New Bedford, will be hosting afternoon tea in the double parlors, which have been festively decorated for the holiday season.

Teas will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, and Tuesday, Dec. 3, starting at 2 p.m., and will be catered by Milward Tea Room.

The menu includes tea, scones, tea sandwiches, and sweets.

Festive attire is encouraged.

Tickets are $35 per person for museum members, and $40 per person for the public. Admission to the house is included in the price.

Holiday Marketplace at Greater Fall River Art Association 

The Greater Fall River Art Association, 80 Belmont St., Fall River, will be hosting a Holiday Marketplace beginning on Friday, Nov. 29.

It will run Thursday to Sunday, until it ends on Sunday, Dec. 15. It will be open weekdays, from 5 to 8 p.m., and on weekends, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Everything will be made by local artists.

Four Corners Arts Center Barn Dance

The Four Corners Arts Center Barn Dance will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m., at The Meeting House, 3850 Main Road, Tiverton.

This contra dance will feature caller Don Heinold and The Westside Warblers.

Parking can be accessed from Main Road and from East Road beside Gray’s Ice Cream.

No experience is necessary.

The cost is $15 per dancer. Family discounts are available. Pay by cash or check at the door.

South Coast Chamber Music Series presents Trio Trio

The South Coast Chamber Music Series presents Trio Trio on Saturday, Nov. 30, in Marion, and on Sunday, Dec. 1, in South Dartmouth.

These concerts will feature musicians Nicholas Brown (clarinet), Jesse Holstein (violin), Leo Eguchi (cello) and Janice Weber (piano).

Saturday’s concert will take place at 3 p.m., at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, 124 Front St.

Sunday’s concert will take place at 3 p.m., at St. Peter’s Espiscopal Church, 351 Elm St.

Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance.

Coming soon: ‘Scrooge in Rouge’ at Little Theatre of Fall River

Little Theatre of Fall River will present “Scrooge in Rouge” from Dec. 5 to 15.

This quick-change version of the Charles Dickens classic is set in a Victorian music hall.

Directed by Roberto S.C. Soares and Bobby Perry, this production is a raucous holiday treat packed with puns and witty songs.
