Hit With A Brick | Brickyard South

Hosted by Brandon Buffett, Brickyard South Bar and Patio is hosting its “Hit With A Brick: It’s almost Thanksgiving edition,” an open mic and comedy night.

Open mic sign ups are at 7:30 p.m. and open mic opportunities are from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dj Tuke Lee will be making an appearance from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Located at Brickyard South, 174 South Blvd join the bar in kicking off Thanksgiving week festivities.

Rusty Yates | Colonel’s Lounge

Spend an early friendsgiving with a night at Colonel’s lounge. Located at 2857 Perkins Road, join this restaurant for drinks and great food as one can listen to live music.

Rusty Yates will be playing the piano and performing this evening for a pleasant ambiance you and your peers can enjoy while celebrating Thanksgiving.

Turkey Trot | Galvez Plaza

For the 38th year in a row, the annual Turkey Trot is taking place on Thanksgiving day. Located at the Galvez Plaza on 200-238 North Blvd this local morning run will take place in downtown Baton Rouge.

Get your morning exercise in with family and friends to either walk or run a 5K.

Friday, Nov. 29

Louisiana Lights | Burden Museum & Gardens

Starting Friday evening, Historic Windrush Gardens will be illuminated with festive lights for the beginning of the Christmas season. Oaktrees, pathways and various aspects of the gardens will be lit up with lights and will remain illuminated for the remainder of the season.

Small Business Saturday | West Baton Rouge Area

Support local Baton Rouge businesses and get your Christmas shopping done early. Starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. visit local shops to receive deals and unique products of all kinds. From jewelry to food, this event can appeal to anyone, while supporting small businesses during this busy holiday season.

Sunday, Dec. 1

Zoo Lights | BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo

Join BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo for their Zoo light display. Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health presents a unique light display to celebrate this holiday season.

Admission begins at 5:30 p.m. and it ends at 8 p.m. The official grounds close at 9 p.m. Celebrate the beauty of this season by supporting the local Baton Rouge zoo and join the community to view this spectacular light accompanied by the animals.
