This year’s Columbus Auto Show canceled

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — This year’s Columbus Auto Show has been canceled.

In a message posted to the Columbus Auto Show and Charity Gala website, show organizers cited national and international “headwinds in the auto industry” as to why this year’s event is off.

“We’re working to address these challenges, and we are committed to see the return of the show in future years,” the message reads.

The event, put on by the Columbus Automobile Dealers Association, was originally scheduled for March 13-16 at the Columbus Convention Center.

The show has been held for more than 50 years.

In the message, the association said the charitable aspect of the show will continue this year, despite the show being canceled.

“We remain fully committed to maintaining the charitable portion of this event, and this year provides us with the opportunity and flexibility to increase focus on this important effort, which in years past has raised more than $2,000,000 to benefit countless local charities,” the message reads.

The association writes that it is exploring “new and creative opportunities for events.”
