Three New Judges Join ‘MasterChef Australia’ for Filming

MasterChef Australia’s upcoming season is officially filming in Melbourne, as the show’s new judges were sighted on set on Wednesday.

According to the Daily Mail, new judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli were seen recording an episode with guest judge Jamie Oliver with returning judge Andy Allen.

The judges appeared to be having a wonderful time, as they were spotted smiling and joking while the challenge was being filmed.

Following Jock Zonfrillo’s death in 2019 and the departure of Melissa Leong, the new series welcomed three new judges to accompany returning host Allen.

Leong earlier stated that she left the show “on her own terms” and that she was not fired, despite claims to the contrary.

Furthermore, she will return for a second season of Dessert Masters, a MasterChef spinoff, in 2024, alongside fellow judge and pastry prodigy Amaury Guichon.

Judges Matt Preston, George Calombaris, and Gary Mehigan previously presented the show.

MasterChef is one of the most expensive shows on Australian television, costing the network an estimated $30 million per season. The hosts are expected to earn around $1 million per season.
