The Fashion Alliance Network is returning for its second annual Jersey City Day of Fashion on Thursday, Sept. 5. following the success of its inaugural event last year.
Taking place just before New York Fashion Week kicks off, the day-long celebration of style will spotlight Jersey City as a hub of fashion and creativity.
The Jersey City Day of Fashion will take place at various venues across the city with a series of events including workshops, runway shows, pop-up shops and exclusive networking opportunities.
The event also provides a platform for designers, brands, and retailers to connect, share ideas and gain recognition within the fashion industry while also celebrating and empowering the local Jersey City fashion community.
“We believe in the transformative power of community,” said Martu Freeman-Parker, founder of the Fashion Alliance Network. “Recognizing the unprecedented challenges faced by small brands and designers, we offer a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.”
Free fashion shows will take place throughout the evening at various locations, including Marco Hall Presents: Kaleidescope at Mana Contemporary, 888 Newark Ave., from 6 to 7 p.m. and will feature designer Marco Hall’s most recent collection titled Kaleidoscope, which features intricate patterns and silhouettes.
At White Eagle Hall, 337 Newark Ave., from 7 to 8 p.m. is the Group Fashion Show which includes collections from four designers as well as fashion for women, men and unisex.
Also taking place from 8 to 9 p.m. is the SHEIN Fashion Show at White Eagle Hall, where the global fashion and lifestyle brand will team up with local designers for a runway show hosted by the Fashion Alliance Network in partnership with the City of Jersey City and Council President Joyce Watterman.
The SHEIN Fashion Show will feature the brand’s latest sustainable designs from the EvoluSHEIN by Design collection, alongside creations from three local fashion talents highlighting the creativity and innovation of Jersey City’s fashion scene: Rachel Elle, a Jersey City designer known for her colorful contemporary pieces; Dani Elle Moore, a Jersey City designer of womenswear celebrating modern femininity; and Valeria Galipoli, a Hoboken-based designer known for her intricately detailed creations.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Jersey City Council President, Joyce E. Watterman and the Fashion Alliance Network to bring local talent to the forefront,” said a SHEIN spokesperson. “This show is an opportunity to not only showcase our sustainable fashion initiatives but also celebrate the artistry and craftsmanship of Jersey City’s own designers.”
In addition to these local talents, the runway will highlight SHEIN’s EvoluSHEIN by Design collection, which focuses on sustainability by using eco-friendly materials and responsible manufacturing processes. The initiative reflects SHEIN’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact while maintaining style and accessibility.
