Top ten car spaces

This week I’m practicing my technical writing with (some of) the biggest cargo space and front legroom station wagons! 

  1. 1971 Buick Estate 

The 1971 Buick Estate comes in at number one for cargo space at 106.0 cubic feet and is tied with the third and ninth cars on this list for legroom with 42.6 inches. This was the first year of the Estate body style that would be used until ‘76. This car also came standard with a 455 V-8. 

2) 1974 Dodge Monaco 

The 1974 Dodge Monaco comes in at number two for cargo space at 100.8 cubic feet and is third biggest for legroom with 42.2 inches. This was the first year of the Monaco body style that would be used until 1977. This car also came standard with a 440 V-8. 

3) 1972 Pontiac (Bonneville) Grand Safari 

The 1972 Pontiac (Bonneville) Grand Safari comes in at number three for cargo space at 100.5 cubic feet and is tied with number one and number nine on this list for legroom with 42.6 inches. This was the second year of the Grand Safari body style that started a year before and would be used until ‘76. This car also came standard with a 455 V-8. 

4) 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood 

The 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood comes in at number four for cargo space at 100.2 cubic feet and is in last place for legroom with 41.4 inches. This was the fourth year of the Kingswood body style that would be used until 1970. This car also came standard with a 350 V-8. 

5) 1969 Plymouth Surburban 

The 1969 Chevrolet Kingswood comes in at number five for cargo space at an even 99 cubic feet and is tied with number six on this list for legroom with 41.8 inches. This was the first year of the Surburban body style that would be used until ‘73. This car also came standard with a 225 V-6. 

6) 1973 Chrysler Town and Country 

The 1973 Chrysler Town and Country comes in at number six for cargo space at 98.9 cubic feet and is tied with number five on this list for legroom with 41.8 inches. This was the last year of the Town and Country body style that started in 1969. This car also came standard with a 440 V-8. 

7) 1971 Ford Ranch Wagon 

The 1971 Ford Ranch Wagon comes in at number seven for cargo space at 96.2 cubic feet and comes in number one for legroom with 43.3 inches. This was the third year of the Ranch Wagon body style that started in 1969 and would be used until 1972. This car also came standard with a 351 V-8. 

8) 1970 Pontiac Bonneville 

The 1970 Pontiac Bonneville comes in at number eight for cargo space at 93.5 cubic feet and is 2nd to last for legroom with 41.5 inches. This was the second and final year of the Bonneville body style that began in 1969. This car also came standard with a 400 V-8. 

9) 1969 AMC Ambassador SST 

The 1969 AMC Ambassador SST comes in at number nine for cargo space at 92.6 cubic feet and is tied with number one and number three on this list for legroom with 42.6 inches. This was the first year of the Ambassador SST body style that would end in ‘74. This car also came standard with a 390 V-8. 

10) 1978 Mercury Marquis Colony Park  

The 1978 Mercury Marquis Colony Park comes in at number ten for cargo space at 92.3 cubic feet and has 41.9 inches for the legroom. This was the last year of the Marquis Colony Park body style that was used starting in 1975. This car also came standard with a 351 V-8.
