The 2025 tourist season is up and running, and the stages of beach music venues will feature an array of talent in the days and nights ahead.
Pat Benatar set highlights trio of big shows at Freeman Arts Pavilion
In Selbyville, the outdoor Freeman Arts Pavilion will kick off its 2025 season with three consecutive concerts this weekend. First up is the annual appearance by tribute act Almost Queen, which will pay homage to Freddie Mercury and company at 7 p.m. Friday, May 30 ($29, $39). Classic-rock group Blood, Sweat & Tears is set for Saturday, May 31. The group will perform after a 7 p.m. opening set by local blues favorite Blind Wind ($44).
Last but certainly not least at Freeman, vocalist Pat Benatar and guitarist Neil Giraldo will appear Sunday, June 1. The spouses who are rock royalty will follow a 7 p.m. set by Ohio-based trio The Vindys ($49 to $99). While the reserved seats in the front and center sections are almost sold out, there are plenty available on the sides (and also in the general admission areas in the back).
Bottle & Cork, Rusty Rudder book fun shows throughout week
In Dewey Beach, the Bottle & Cork nightclub will host a free show by So Fetch at 9 p.m. Friday, May 30. The theatrical cover band will focus on pop radio hits from the early 2000’s. Next week will find the Cork welcoming country star Chayce Beckham on Wednesday, June 4 following a 8 p.m. opener by Scoot Teasley ($34).
The Cork’s nearby sister business, the Rusty Rudder has a concert of its own set for this weekend. The Band Feel will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1 ($18). The Missouri group is supporting its eponymous debut EP which blends rock, jazz and blues.
Also in Dewey, Northbeach was packed last week for a DJ dance party in the sand which found “Vanderpump Rules” celebrity James Kennedy spinning the tunes on the afternoon of May 24. Northbeach has placed tickets on sale for a followup event. Kyle Cooke from the Bravo reality TV show “Summer House” will deejay outside from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 14 ($20).
Grammy-nominated sister act bringing free show to Dogfish Head
In downtown Rehoboth Beach, the Dogfish Head brewpub has a free concert on tap for 9 p.m. Saturday, May 31. Memphis, Tenn. touring act Southern Avenue (which includes three sisters in its lineup) will promote its aptly-titled album “Family.” The sound mixes blues, gospel and soul. A previous release, 2019’s “Keep On,” garnered a Grammy nomination in the Best Contemporary Blues Album category.
