TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a deceased body was found inside a burning car in east Toledo.

Toledo Fire & Rescue received a call around 1:30 a.m. for a car on fire near I-280 northbound at the Front Street exit ramp. The car was found in a tough spot with a lot of grassy area underneath the Veterans Glass City Skyway Bridge.

After TFRD crews extinguished the blaze, they found a body inside the vehicle. 

At this time, the gender of the deceased person in unknown. There was no identification found.

Officers are working to identify the make and model of the car.

WTOL 11 was told the incident is being investigated as a suspicious death.
