Jim Tweto, a pilot for the Discovery Channel and the star of the show Flying Wild Alaska, died in a terrible plane crash on Friday morning.
State police in Alaska said they saw Jim flying a small plane before the weekend. The plane didn’t get high enough, though, and it crashed soon after it took off.
Through an Instagram post, Tweto’s daughter shared the sad news that he had died. “I didn’t think anything could hurt this bad. And I don’t know why I am writing this but the news is out so I figured you hear it from me.”
She wrote, “I would take any other type of pain if he could just land today,” to show how much she wanted to see her father again.
“My dad and a wonderful hunting guide and friend of our family passed away this afternoon in his 180,” she said. “He died doing what he truly loved and is now with Uncle Ron up there soaring.”
She sent her father several pictures and a screenshot of her last chat with him.
According to Daily Star, $35,628 has been donated to her daughter’s GoFundMe page to help her pay for costs. After the terrible accident, she made the page.
At 11:48 a.m., an SOS message told the official about the crash.
