CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As many wrap up a weekend of spending, travel writers at Travel + Leisure are giving some tips on how to find deals, for those planning on catching any flights next year.

Here are three to keep in mind.

1. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving has come to be known as Travel Tuesday. 

Just like retailers offer discounts between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, these promotions are launched by hotels, cruise lines, airlines and other travel companies.

2. Discounts span multiple parts of the travel experience.

As far as how much you can expect to save, Travel + Leisure writers listed discounts up to half off. These discounts were mostly for cruises. Hotel stays were mainly in the 20% to 30% range for discounts.

3. As far as where folks could be headed, the world is your oyster. 

CNBC recently published a list of top travel destination for next year. Only one city in the United States made that list. Cities in Australia, Turkey, and Italy took the top three. Meanwhile, Santa Fe, New Mexico, came in at number seven on the list.
