The Memorial Health Foundation received a donation of $100,000 from Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company and the Spartan Foundation during this year’s Giving Tuesday campaign.
Giving Tuesday is a global event, and this is the third year Memorial Health Foundation has participated, according to a release from Memorial Health System. This year, the foundation challenged the community to “unlock the power of 3,” including a $300,000 goal, 300 donors and 30-plus funds supported.
The release said the donation was unexpected, but Tri-State President Jason Lewis saw the fundraising efforts and wanted to support the campaign.
“Today, Mr. Lewis acknowledged the significance of our foundation’s special day as we strive for a $300,000 goal on Giving Tuesday,” Jarrett Stull, executive director of Memorial Health Foundation said in the release.
Lewis set up a meeting for Tuesday afternoon with Memorial Health System president and CEO Scott Cantley.
“To our surprise, Mr. Lewis not only visited but presented a generous check of $100,000 from Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company and the Spartan Foundation to support the development of our region’s first-ever Women and Children’s Hospital announced earlier this year,” Stull said.
It’s the largest single Giving Tuesday contribution the foundation has ever received.
“We extend our gratitude to Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company and the Spartan Foundation for their unparalleled support,” Stull said. “Their commitment and leadership significantly enhanced the impact of this Giving Tuesday on the health and well-being of our community.”
