Tribeca Festival’s 2025 Television Lineup Features ‘We Were Liars,’ ‘Smoke’ and ‘The Gilded Age,’ Plus Conversation With Lena Dunham


The Tribeca Festival‘s television slate for 2025 includes the Prime Video book adaptation “We Were Liars,” “The Gilded Age” Season 3 and the Mandy Patinkin comedy “Seasoned,” as well as a conversation with Lena Dunham.

The festival, held in New York City June 4-15, will show a variety of narrative, documentary and animated films. The television spotlight includes a mix of world premieres, returning series and independent projects. Many of the screenings will be accompanied by on-stage conversations.

“Television is one of the most powerful storytelling mediums of our time, and Tribeca is proud to be a home for the visionaries who are redefining it,” Cara Cusumano, Tribeca Festival’s director and senior vice president of programming, said in a statement. “Tribeca TV is a cornerstone of our festival—an essential platform where innovation, artistry, and audience converge. As the lines between film and television continue to blur, our commitment to championing exceptional stories in all forms remains steadfast.”

Besides “We Were Liars,” other world premiering series are “Smoke,” an Apple TV+ drama with Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett, “The Furry Detectives: Unmasking A Monster,” a SundanceTV docuseries about the darker side of furries and BritBox series “Outrageous,” which centers on the Mitford sisters.

Along with the returning “The Gilded Age,” audiences can catch the Season 3 debut of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” as well as the Season 4 finale of the Forest Whitaker-starring “Godfather of Harlem.”

The lineup for Now, a section highlighting independent series and pilots, includes “Seasoned,” which follows Mandy Patinkin and Kathryn Grody’s relationship, “Hal & Harper,” a drama that stars Mark Ruffalo, Betty Gilpin and Lili Reinhart, “The Price of Milk,” a journey into the history of the ‘Got Milk’ campaign and “Earth to Percy,” a story about an astronaut who gets left out his crew’s social plans.

Additionally, Lena Dunham will join the festival for a conversation about her upcoming Netflix show, “Too Much,” which stars Megan Stalter, Will Sharpe, Rita Wilson, Andrew Rannells, Andrew Scott and more.
