TripAdvisor sickos leave macabre ‘reviews’ of restaurant where gunman was killed

Diners are leaving “fake” reviews about a restaurant on TripAdvisor after a gunman stormed inside with a “high-velocity weapon” in an apparent gangland murder bid before he was overpowered and killed.

Tristan Sherry, 26, entered Browne’s Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, Dublin, with plans to target a 47-year-old man who was enjoying dinner with his son on Christmas Eve last year – but the assassination attempt was foiled amid reports his gun jammed during the attack, allowing other diners to fight back.

Police in Ireland earlier confirmed a man was arrested in connection to the incident after Sherry was stabbed to death, having said to have suffered around 30 knife wounds. Michael Andrecut, 22, of Corduff, was subsequently charged with murder, making no reply to the charge after he appeared in court on Saturday.

In a video, one diner could be heard saying that a man was “whacked”, while a man could be seen lying lifeless on the bloodied ground in another clip. And despite the grim nature of the incident, it appears that people have left macabre reviews of Browne’s, saying that food lacks quality but the “entertainment” is top class.

In a message shared Twitter, a man shared screenshots of the reviews. One titled ‘very entertaining’ said: “The food was terrible to be honest, I had the breaded chicken and it was watery. There was some good entertainment though, [a] man came in and started shooting at people and then he was stabbed 27 times. Overall, won’t be taking the family back but I was definitely entertained.”

The reviewer rated the value, service and food one star while they gave the atmosphere five stars out of five, reports Daily Star. A second review, from a ‘Mick P’, carried the title ‘Shoot to kill’. He wrote: “Super neighbourhood restaurant. Great atmosphere and excellent service. “Atmosphere was good until a guy machine gunned an auld fella…and was then stabbed to death with steak knives.”

Apparently referencing the footage that was shot inside the eatery as the attack happened, he added: “But it was a great night for the Snapchats!” It is unclear whether the screenshots are genuine Tripadvisor reviews, as they don’t appear on the site at the time of writing. Defence solicitor Brian Tunney made an application for free legal aid and handed a statement of means in to the court. Andrecut was remanded in custody. Browne’s has been contacted for comment.
