Watch: The team of the Tripping Kosher food series visited the dairy Bou’ote restaurant in Crown Heights and “contemplated keeping this spot a secret,” they said. Full Story, Video
Tripping Kosher:
There is a cafe that is incredibly cute and exciting to find. It’s petite, it’s in Brooklyn, it’s called Bou’ote.
We ate a fantastic-looking grilled cheese, a French-Iyonnaise kind of baked potato with poached eggs, and kreplach. You know we can’t resist a dumpling. There are lots of fun dishes in this spot with Parisian flair.
Bou’ote has a selection of sandwiches, but we tasted the egg sandwich and tuna sandwich. They also have a French-influenced babka that looks dense and has all the right moves. They crush the kosher food scene with dairy and parve selections.
Bou’ote is under the supervision of OK Kosher.
Aside from the great meals they serve, Bou’ote is a sweet quaint space, almost like an old-style Jewish deli. However, we think of it as a fine dining establishment masquerading as a petite, coquettish cafe.
We sat outside and enjoyed the Crown Heights air and delicious kosher dishes. We contemplated keeping this spot a secret but we also want you to share in this Bou’oteful experience.
