On Tuesday afternoon, as he walked through the hallways of the Manhattan Criminal Court to his arraignment, former President Donald Trump was arrested and filmed, and photographed. This was a historic moment.
CNN said that Trump was arrested at about 1:23 p.m. ET when he got to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He was then fingerprinted and processed before his arraignment at 2:15 p.m. Trump was not in handcuffs and reportedly did not have a mugshot taken. This is different from most criminal defendants who walk down the same hallway. Later, photographers took pictures of Trump sitting in court next to his lawyers. He is accused of making up business records about a payment he made to Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet during the 2016 presidential campaign. After Trump’s arraignment, the indictment against him will be made public, so it’s no surprise that he plans to talk to the public just outside the courtroom.
