Last month, the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) received eight honors at the MUSE Creative and Design Awards. Among these awards were three of MUSE’s highest Platinum honors, which recognize worldwide creative excellence. These awards were earned through TSET health communication campaigns that focus on education about secondhand smoke and tobacco industry manipulation.
Multiple TSET creative products won awards, including the Tobacco Stops With Me campaign “It’s Like They’re Smoking,” which earned three Platinum MUSE awards. The campaign focuses on educating Oklahomans about the dangers secondhand smoke poses to unsuspecting children in their homes. TSET shares its Platinum MUSE honors with international brands such as Disney, Apple, McDonald’s, Marriott, Warner Brothers, Adidas, Doritos, Honda and more.
“We are proud to put out high-quality creative messages that help to turn the tide of health in our state,” said Julie Bisbee, TSET executive director. “These important messages are creating a better future. The priority placed on quality work helps bring awareness to health concerns affecting all Oklahomans.”
Established by voters in 2000, TSET invests payments from the Master Settlement Agreement with Big Tobacco. The agency uses the earnings to support grants and programs to improve health in Oklahoma, including efforts to decrease smoking.
Judges from 16 countries representing worldwide advertising and creative agencies evaluated MUSE creative submissions. Judging determined how well submissions exemplified excellence and pushed their respective industries forward. Award submissions earned Platinum, Gold, Silver or no honors, based on evaluation of the creative.
TSET’s growing library of health communication efforts, created in partnership with its agency of record, VI Marketing and Branding, continues to create change in Oklahoma while also earning industry recognition worldwide. To learn more about TSET, visit Oklahoma.gov/TSET.
