
NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – Police are warning drivers to expect delays on Route 17 following a two-car crash involving three utility poles.
Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Middletown Avenue and Reeds Gap Road before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
First responders saw a two-car accident with three utility poles with downed wires.
Wallingford Electric cut off the power in the area so first responders could provide medical attention to one of the drivers.
One driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The other driver refused medical attention.
The accident is still under investigation and police said drivers should expect delays in the area.
“We are thankful for the quick response of Police, Fire, EMS, Connecticut Department of Transportation, DEEP, and Wallingford Electric who all assisted in this incident,” said North Branford police in a post on Facebook.
