Shortly after stealing two portable Yeti soft coolers from Dick’s Sporting Goods at 380 S. Lycoming Mall Road in Muncy Township, on June 16, Clinton James Cooper, 31, of Shickshinny, Luzerne County, sold them for half price in order to support his drug habit, township police alleged in an affidavit. “Cooper admitted to having a drug addiction and that the reason he stole the coolers (total value of $424) was to support his addiction,” the affidavit stated. Charged with misdemeanor shoplifting and receiving stolen property, Cooper has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner and is free on $5,000 bail.
