
BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women’s basketball team is set to host the Auburn Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Bartow Arena. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Blazers enter the contest at 6-1 overall and boast an undefeated 5-0 record inside Bartow Arena this season. Auburn is 5-2 and is coming off an 83-53 victory over Clemson in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
The last time UAB and Auburn played, the Blazers came away with an 80-75 victory at Bartow Arena in 2019.
Mia Moore is having a sensational start to her Blazer career and enters the Auburn game averaging 19.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. The sophomore transfer from Mississippi State has four games of scoring 20+ points and has three double-doubles.
Moore’s backcourt mate and fellow sophomore guard Denim DeShields is coming off a nine-assist game and continues to lead the American Athletic Conference in assists per game (6.4). DeShields is 28 points away from 500 in her career.
Additionally, freshman Jade Weathersby is becoming a reliable scorer for the Blazers, averaging 15.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game over her last three games, all of which she has scored double-figures in.
Tickets to Sunday’s game are available by clicking here and the first 150 students through the gates on Sunday will receive a free t-shirt. Additionally, All Blazer Kids Club members can participate in a pregame high-five tunnel and Santa will also be on the concourse for fans to take pictures with.
