The UNC basketball program reportedly put together a big statement in its “secret scrimmage” against FAU on Saturday afternoon.
Even though it’s considered a “secret scrimmage,” is it even fair to call it that?
Regardless, the UNC basketball program traveled to Florida to take on FAU in its secret scrimmage. Of course, no media or fans were allowed to attend, it was simply a contest for the two teams to work on some things against another opponent before the season officially kicks off.
According to reports, Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels dominated against Florida Atlantic, the No. 10-ranked team in the AP Preseason poll.
North Carolina beat Florida Atlantic by 20+ in today’s scrimmage, per source.

Trilly Donovan first reported that the UNC basketball program won the scrimmage by 20+ points. This tweet was followed shortly by one from Jeff Goodman, who stated that the Tar Heels had no issues with FAU.
Source: North Carolina had NO issues with FAU in a secret scrimmage. Tar Heels were dominant.
RJ Evans was terrific, Jalen Washington and Elliot Cadeau played well for UNC.

Don’t mind the typo, but Goodman says that birthday boy R.J. Davis was terrific in the scrimmage. He also mentioned that sophomore Jalen Washington and freshman guard Elliot Cadeau played well for the UNC basketball program.
Take it as you may: it is a scrimmage. However, you have to be encouraged that North Carolina put together a strong effort against a very quality opponent, as this was the first opportunity that this new-look Tar Heels team had the opportunity to take the floor against another team.
More information regarding the “secret scrimmage” may come along, as it would be interesting to see the stat lines for some of the UNC basketball program’s notable players. Although we all wish we could’ve watched the scrimmage live, the good news is that Friday’s exhibition against St. Augustine’s in Chapel Hill will be televised.
