UNC basketball’s Harrison Ingram: ‘This still doesn’t feel real’

UNC basketball’s Harrison Ingram speaks to the media after scoring 14 points and adding seven rebounds in the team’s 90-68 win against Lehigh.

Or something. I think playing as a team. I mean, we were shooting a bunch of open, we all shot open shots, we can get open shot whenever we want. We have a lot of good players like Elliot and RJ. I mean, I can go down the list, a bunch of talented players but really getting the shot that we want, I mean, we were shooting the shots that they want. They were going to screens, they were trying to force us to shoot deep green range shots, deep mid range shots was we, we can hit, but the day we wanted to dominate them in the side as we talk about the left hand, I think there is that something you still kind of just mess around maybe practice. And every once in a while at the end of practice, no, I would never do it in practice because coach A was to have me on the line running. But like, you know, every once in a while after practice, I’ll shoot around with lefty and stuff like that. So you said you feel more com more going to the left off that lay up move or do you not really care which way. I guess it’s like, I mean, right handed. So obviously I like going right more but most people force me left, uh, because we’re right handed and that’s kind of just what you do for someone left. So, I mean, I’ve always gone left so I’m more comfortable doing that. Thank you. How do you feel like you? I mean, for me, I’m still, this still doesn’t feel real. I still think I’m in a dream. Like I’m playing basketball in North Carolina. I don’t even know what’s going on, but to me, I’m just trying to take everything in, take it day by day and just get better every day. One thing is that, you know, playing the three and the four in, um what is it that you like to definitely just coach to Avis, I mean, how much he believes in me? Like he, I have the freedom to do whatever I want. I can shoot the reads, I can post up, I can push the ball down the court, I can get the outlet, I can pass the outlet and set screens come around screens. I just the way he uses me, I do everything on the court and I feel that’s the best thing in my game living a dream playing here. What’s so special. I mean, the fans, I mean, it’s just the fans, the family atmosphere. I mean, we’re playing at 2 p.m. on a Sunday after a Duke game that went to 12 a.m. and fans are here packed out. I mean, it’s just different. North Carolina is different. Fire up in the under 16. I mean, we were playing as a team. We were shooting bad shots. We were all trying to get, get our own and I don’t know, shooting, I mean, we’re shooting open shots but that’s all the shots we want.
