
First-Generation Celebration Week
Free | Nov. 6-10
Are you a first-generation Niner? Then this week is for you. Collect free swag, meet other first-generation students and, most importantly, celebrate you. Events include the First-Generation Photos & Food Truck (Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 1-3 p.m. at CHHS/COED Plaza), the First Generation Cookout (Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Starquad) and the First-Generation Graduation Celebration (Thursday, Nov. 9 from 5-7:30 p.m in the Popp Student Union room 340).
Fall Dance Concert
$8-$18 | Nov. 16-19
The College of Arts + Architecture (CoAA) is hosting its annual fall dance concert at the Anne R. Belk Theater. The concert features students in four works and is choreographed by dance faculty Tamara Williams, Delia Neil and E.E. Balcos. The concert’s official title is “Honor in Motion.” CoAA faculty, staff and students can receive free admission using their Niner account when purchasing tickets. Both evening and matinee shows are available.
Orchestra Concert
$8 per person | Nov. 30, 2023, 7:30 p.m.
The Department of Music’s orchestra is performing under Director Alan Yamamoto in the Anne R. Belk Theater. Both evening and matinee shows are available.
ASO x LASO Soccer Tournament
$3 per player | Nov. 10, 2023, 5:30-8 p.m.
UNC Charlotte’s Arab Student Union and Latin American Student Union are hosting an elimination-style soccer tournament on the NFRC field 16. Each team will have 8-10 players, who must pay $3 to participate. All proceeds will go towards a nonprofit organization that offers support for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
SGA Month of Giving

Throughout November, UNC Charlotte’s Student Government Association (SGA) will be hosting a variety of events to give back to the campus community. These events include addressing food insecurity like the Jamil Niner food Pantry Fill Up (Tuesday, Nov. 14), career assistance like the resource tabling (Tuesday, Nov. 28), educational workshops like the Cultural Food Festival (Tuesday, Nov. 21) and more laid-back, fun events. CAPS Carnival
Free | Nov. 9, 2023, 1-4 p.m.
CAPS is holding a carnival for students to partake in games and activities, win prizes and form social connections. The carnival aims to give students a fun way to relax and destress while promoting mental health care. It will be held in the Belk Gymnasium.
For Us: A QTBIPOC Student Space
Free | Nov. 13, 6-7 p.m
The Office of Identity, Equity, and Inclusion is hosting this event to bring together BIPOC LGBTQ+ students. They can build community with other students, engage in educational discussions and form meaningful discussions with their peers. Registration is required. An additional meeting will be held Monday, Dec. 4.
International Coffee Hour
Free | Nov. 16, 2023, 4-6 p.m.
The International Student and Scholar Office is hosting its international coffee hour to meet people from around the world, play games, have engaging conversations and enjoy some relaxing refreshments. It is held on the first and third Thursday of every month in Prospector’s Faculty and Staff dining room.
