Unveiled Elegance: A Fashion Odyssey with couture designer Gordana Gehlhausen took place at the Cheval Winery on Oct. 12. Donna Kaufman, the owner, was on hand to greet the guests as they arrived at this breathtaking property. The attendees enjoyed wines grown at the vineyards along with delicious hors d’oeuvres.
The fashion show took place outside on a long runway. Goga unveiled her elegant fashions with beautiful fabrics embellished with beads, sequins, appliques, and feathers. She specializes in formal wear and gowns for red carpets and is very talented at creating a gown to fit any body shape. This event showcased her artistry as a designer.
I asked her about her work and she said, “Every woman deserves to feel beautiful.”
Gehlhausen hasn’t had a fashion show since Covid and was excited to be back in San Diego where she had lived and operated a store for many years. She found herself going back and forth so much that she finally moved to LA to be close to the majority of her client base.
You may remember Gehlhausen from Season 6 on Project Runway and Project Runway All-Stars. Since then she has designed for many celebrities such as Carrie Underwood, Ashlee Simpson, Patricia Arquette, and Nina Dobrev.
The proceeds for this event benefit The Berry Good Food Foundation. This non-profit has planted 30 school gardens, gives affordable cooking classes, and has free panel discussions. The next panel discussion is on Nov. 4 and you can check that out at berygoodfood.org. Additional donors for this event were Solar Rain, The Plot, ASD, Ciao, Sweet Pea, and One Touch.
