
Nurses and parents of NICU children reunited on Saturday at UofL Health’s annual Halloween event.The event allows former NICU babies and their families to reconnect with the health care staff who cared for them in the hospital.Children could dress up in their Halloween costumes to participate in trick-or-treating and a dance party with the University of Louisville’s mascot, Louie.Family-friendly activities were also available at the event.Amanda Gardner, a NICU clinical manager at UofL, said the event is something special to the hospital staff.This was the fifth time the hospital had the event.Staff members and families hope to continue the tradition with everyone they said has been there for them through some of their hardest times.
