LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Utah State men’s tennis’ juniors David Martirosian, Sergi Micó Fenollar and sophomore Nuno Pinheiro began singles and doubles competition at the UNLV-hosted Easley Memorial Invite on Friday.
In doubles play, Martirosian and Pinheiro competed in the round of 16 of the main draw where they were defeated, 6-4, by Idaho State’s Andreas Kramer and Wikus Robbertse.
In the quarterfinal matches of the Easley Draw, Fenollar was defeated by the 2022 Easley Singles Champion, Idaho State’s Valentino De Pellegrin, 7-6, 6-4. Pinheiro also was defeated in the draw by Louisiana senior Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez in a 6-4, 6-2 loss.
Martirosian competed in the Scarlet Draw where he had a round of 16 bye, and then was defeated in a three-set, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 battle by UNLV’s Creed Skinner.
Utah State men’s tennis continues consolation play at the Easley Memorial Invite on Saturday, Nov. 4.
