UVM Athletics Announces MVP Health Care as Presenting Sponsor of Senior Days – University of Vermont Athletics

BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont Athletics Department has partnered with MVP Health Care (MVP) as the presenting sponsor for Senior Days. The agreement was reached through athletic multimedia rights holder Vermont Sports Properties, the locally based team of LEARFIELD – the media and technology powering college athletics.

MVP is committed to serving older adults across Vermont. In 2021, MVP partnered with the UVM Health Network to launch a first-of-its-kind health plan called UVM Health Advantage, which was guided by local doctors and direct feedback from results of Vermont and Northern New York to ensure the benefits meet the needs of older adults in the area.

Through this partnership, UVM Athletics and MVP will launch a campaign titled “Senior to Senior”, a promotion across Vermont sports that recognizes a local senior fan as an honorary senior during Senior Day games. Thanks to MVP, all fans over the age of 60 years old will be able to purchase their tickets to senior day games at a special, discounted rate.

“We are incredibly excited to join forces with the University of Vermont Athletics Department, embarking on a remarkable partnership that brings exclusive VIP game day experiences to older adults,” said MVP Health Care’s President and CEO, Chris Del Vecchio.  “At MVP Health Care, our unwavering commitment lies in empowering individuals to lead healthy lives that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of health care. Through the visionary ‘Senior to Senior’ program, we wholeheartedly dedicate ourselves to enhancing the well-being, happiness, and community engagement of older adults by creating opportunities for them to relish in the excitement of local sports.”

The “Senior to Senior” initiative will kick off with Men’s Soccer Senior Day on Friday, Oct. 27 where longtime fan Walt Levering will be recognized by the team as an honorary senior. Without this partnership with MVP, UVM Athletics would not have the ability to afford senior fans with this type of memorable, VIP game day experience.

“We are proud to collaborate with MVP on the ‘Senior to Senior’ program for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons,” said University of Vermont’s Athletic Director, Jeff Schulman. “This is a unique opportunity to honor some of UVM Athletics’ most dedicated fans while recognizing our graduating student athletes. We’re looking forward to our upcoming Senior Days.”
