WHITEWATER (WKOW)– The UW-Whitewater baseball team defeated UW-La Crosse 8-0, 8-2 on Saturday in the NCAA Super Regional to advance to the NCAA World Series.
In game one, Cade Berendt pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 13 batters. It was a team effort on offense, with Aaron Holland leading the way tallying two RBI in the 8-0 victory.
In game two, Freshman Jack Hagen pitched nine innings, allowing eight hits and two runs. Eli Frank and Matt Scolan each recorded 3 RBI in the 8-2 victory.
The championship bracket games will take place May 21-June 6 at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio. UW-Whitewater baseball won a championship in 2014 and 2005.
