Vanderbilt basketball without Colin Smith, Ezra Manjon vs. Arizona State

Ezra Manjon and Colin Smith will not play in Vanderbilt basketball’s Vegas Showdown game against Arizona State, according to a program spokesperson.

Manjon is dealing with an ankle injury suffered against Central Arkansas a week ago, while Smith has a concussion.

Manjon also did not play in Thursday’s loss to NC State. Smith suffered the concussion during the game, in which he scored four points and had five rebounds.

The Commodores (3-2) started Paul Lewis at point guard in place of Manjon against the Wolfpack. Freshman Isaiah West is another option.

In place of Smith, Vanderbilt could opt for a two-big lineup with Ven-Allen Lubin and Tasos Kamateros or a smaller lineup with freshman wing Jason Rivera-Torres.

The Commodores are searching for their first high-major win of the season against the Sun Devils (2-2). They already have a loss to Presbyterian while without three other players: Tyrin Lawrence, Lee Dort and Ven-Allen Lubin.

Lubin, Dort and Lawrence are available Friday.
