Daughter of construction entrepreneurs from Malta who moved to Italy, Vanessa Formosa started this first business 12 years ago almost by chance in Vallerano, in the province of Viterbo, connecting the design of Italian manufacturers with foreign customers who requested it. The results were immediately so positive and impactful that it established into a substantial profession, and the company grew naturally, almost like a child. Today, VF Home Decor deals with finishes and interior furnishings for homes, commercial activities, hotels and restaurants.
“The first idea was to unite Malta and Italy, contacting interior designers and architects – says Vanessa Formosa – At VF we offer everything that can be needed in a furnishing project. From tiles, to internal doors, to plumbing materials, mirrors, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms, furniture and so on. Once a potential customer, be it a private customer or a designer or an architect, shows interest in using our services, our journey together begins. Understanding the needs of foreigners is not easy and the clientele searching for made in Italy is often demanding. I learned to build my system to best support the needs and the entire organization”.
Starting from Malta, requests to VF Home Decor now also come from other countries, such as the United Kingdom, France and Cameroon, thanks to word of mouth and positive references. “Whether it is a private customer, a designer and an architect – explains Vanessa Formosa – the online meeting is the first approach: the plan of the house or premises is shared, explaining the needs and the idea of how you would like to furnish the spaces. The first consultation helps to get to know each other and build trust. The customer may have a project already drawn up by their architect and we act as direct resellers of the manufacturing companies; otherwise we carry out the project with the technicians of our team. For the choice of articles, the customer can come to our headquarters in Vallerano, where we show them our samples, even working together for several days, or the contact can only take place online, for particular needs of time and distances. This depends solely on the customer”.
The Italian style is undoubtedly much sought after for its uniqueness and high quality of materials and finishes.
