Vehicles burglarized, car crashed overnight in Cockeysville neighborhood


Baltimore County police said they are investigating at least 13 reports of car burglaries in Cockeysville Wednesday morning.Residents on Lake Vista Circle said thieves broke into several cars. Jashaun Tynes said she discovered the damage to her car at around 7:30 a.m.”When I came out and got into my car, I didn’t realize the window was gone at first, until I realized all my stuff was all over my seats,” Tynes said. “They ransacked my glove compartment, my middle console, my wallet, my ID, credit cards (and) my child’s iPad.”Police said they received over a dozen similar reports.”Preliminarily, I can tell you we have 13 reports of theft from auto in the Cockeysville area since 6 a.m. this morning,” police spokeswoman Joy Stewart said.Not far from that apartment complex, at the corner of Bosley and Gateridge roads, a car left the road, hit a brick community monument and kept going.The crash woke up Laurie Price at 3:30 a.m. Her house sits on the corner.”I looked out the window and I saw a black car coming down those people’s yard, jumped the island there and came right down the driveway and hit the garage,” Price said.Police and firefighters responded because there was smoke coming from the hood. Officials said that the car had been stolen.The investigation is ongoing.
