The Coldstream-based Interior Highland Dancing Association of B.C. will also receive $6,000 in community gaming grants, the Monashee Arts Council in Lumby will get $5,000, and the Caravan Farm Theatre Society in Armstrong will receive $27,500.
“B.C. has the greatest concentration of artists and cultural workers per capita in Canada,” Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, said.
“We’re proud to support the arts-and-culture sector through the Community Gaming Grants, as it plays a vital role in promoting the resilience, vitality and well-being of our communities. We strongly believe that everyone should have access to arts and culture in their communities.”
Hundreds of arts and culture organizations are benefiting from the Community Gaming Grants this year, including those located in other Okanagan communities and in the Shuswap. The full list of recipients can be seen here.
