VI-grade, a global provider of simulation-driven vehicle development solutions, has entered into a partnership with Mcity, the University of Michigan’s hub for advanced mobility research. This collaboration aims to bolster automotive research capabilities through the utilization of VI-grade’s simulator technology.

Central to this partnership is the deployment of VI-grade’s Compact Simulator, which is designed to enhance simulation activities and facilitate real-time testing of models.

Equipped with VI-grade’s software stack, including VI-WorldSim, this simulator should enable Mcity’s research teams to conduct detailed, human-centered studies focusing on autonomous, safety and connected technologies.

Guido Bairati, managing director at VI-grade, said, “Our Compact Simulator is the optimal tool for Mcity to enhance its research capabilities, develop and test specific control algorithms, and introduce its students to driving simulator technologies.”

As part of the collaboration, VI-grade also joins Mcity as a member. Mcity is a public-private research partnership that brings together industry, government and academia to enhance transportation safety, cleanliness, equity and accessibility.
