American lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret has permanently closed its store at 750 Burrard St. in downtown Vancouver.
After quietly shuttering the massive retail space last weekend, the company reportedly has plans to open a new store in nearby CF Pacific Centre. The planned location within the shopping centre, opening date and size of the space have not been announced.

Opened in August 2013, the 35,000-square-foot, two-storey flagship store at the corner of Robson and Burrard streets was among the retailer’s largest bricks-and-mortar footprints. The store opening caused a stir with local shoppers, with large crowds of people lining up for the opening day.
The cavernous retail location, which was previously home to HMV and Planet Hollywood, hosted several of the company’s “Angels” during its 10-plus year run, including appearances by models Lindsay Ellingson and Jasmine Tookes.
L Brands, parent company of Victoria’s Secret, announced the planned reduction of the number of stores in Canada in 2020 due to pandemic-related pressures. According to Retail-Insider, the number of Victoria’s Secret retail outposts shuttered at that time totalled 13, including locations in Calgary, Richmond Centre and Winnipeg.
The closure of the lingerie brand’s flagship store in downtown Vancouver marks a second major vacancy on the shopping corridor following the departure of Seattle-headquartered retailer Nordstrom from Pacific Centre last year. That multi-level retail space remains vacant, but Canadian retailer Simons is rumoured to be considering the space.
