TUCKER, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) – A Waffle House customer shot an employee during an argument over food, police in Georgia said.
According to officials in DeKalb County, police responded to the shooting Monday morning just before 6 a.m. at the Waffle House in Tucker.
Police on the scene told WANF that a customer shot an employee in the arm and leg.
Officers said they believe the shooting stemmed from an argument over food.
The employee was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and is expected to be OK.
The restaurant reopened to customers a few hours after the shooting.
Waffle House released a statement that reads, in part, “We are cooperating fully with the ongoing law enforcement investigation into this incident.”
The shooting remains under investigation. As of Tuesday afternoon, it’s unclear if the suspect is in custody.
