Warrant Issued for the Detention of a Woman Who Refuses TB Treatment

A lady from Washington State who has had tuberculosis for a year will be jailed on March 3 if she fails to comply with testing, treatment, and isolation instructions. According to The Olympian, a judge signed the warrant at the request of health officials, who described it as a last measure. Authorities claimed they had “determined that [the patient] has not remained in her apartment in conformity with the court’s orders, nor has been treated or tested to establish the status of her tuberculosis infection.”
